Not this again! The nextenergynews.com article was fake. Toshiba plans no such reactors.
Toshiba does have a small reactor design called the 4S, that can generate something like 10-20 MW and provide electricity at about 20-25 cents/kWh. This would be useful for remote communities that currently depend on diesel generation for their electricity (at prices upwards of 25 cents/kWh).
