Back up and running

Hi everyone,

After a bit of a lengthy break I want to get theWatt going again. I want to focus mostly on the podcast since that's really my niche, but I'm also going to write a column (I'm aiming for a weekly column) about some energy topics and hopefully the forums will become active but typically it takes time to build up the user community.

For anybody who used to frequent the old site you'll notice a new site design. I think this will make it easier to manage and keep out spam. Some of the content from the old site won't make it into the new version because I changed the software/database system that runs theWatt and although I still have the database from the old site, the database structure has changed and I'm not sure I want to spend the time writing a script to make the conversion. I'll eventually bring over some of the better posts though.

I think this new system does a much better job at organizing the content. It's now much easier to sift through the podcasts and organize them.

So, if you know of anybody who might be interested in the podcast, please spread the word! Or, let me know if you or somebody else might want to come on the show. I'm always looking for new people to talk to for the podcast.

Re: Back up and running

Nice to see you back Ben. I enjoyed the podcast and am eagerly anticipating something new in the rss reader!

Re: Back up and running

Hi Ben

Welcome back :-)

Re: Back up and running

We've missed you Ben! There's no podcast like The Watt! Looking forward to hearing the first of the new series.

Re: Back up and running

Thank sweet Jesus! I've been waiting for this day for a LONG LONG time. I even posted an open letter to Ben on my blog. Anyway, Thanks Ben

Re: Back up and running

Wow, I just have to link to that letter: http://pipskippy.blogspot.com/2008/02/miracle-of-christ.html

Maybe I should come up with some open letters.

Re: Back up and running

Here's the original open letter. In the letter, I even offered to pay for the podcast. However, do let me know if there are any support functions needed, I'll be glad to pitch in.

Re: Back up and running

Ah yes, that's the open letter.

It's really just time and motivation that I need. Time can be managed but sometimes it's hard to maintain the motivation (it comes in waves). But don't worry, you'll have new shows soon.

Re: Back up and running

I couldn't believe it. I refreshed my podcast list and theWatt was actually updating! I thought it had to be a mistake, but no!

Seriously, welcome back and glad to see you are podcasting again. Looking forward to your thoughts and guests.

Re: Back up and running

Welcome back Ben. There are people out here who really appreciate what you do, so, on behalf of all of us... THANKS!

Re: Back up and running

My son just called that you had returned. Thought we had lost you. Exponential change. Second stage biofuels (algae and bacteria). Costs falling in solar and wind. Geothermal awakening. Commercialization of biobutanol by Dupont. GM announced investment in second stage ethanol. Hyper-efficient lithium-ion batteries. You have lots to do. Thanks for the education.

Re: Back up and running

Welcome back! Glad I never unsubscribed! Your niche was definitely missed.
